Incendiary Me, rabble-rouser stoking the treacherous flame goodbye status quo You, the real trouble dousing my wild wicked flames with old tradition My ember stays strong gathering, spreading, rising ember-flicker-flame You sense the danger use inflammatory words to choke my fire I am the incendiary device you cannot stop this inferno of change
I was inspired to write this haiku sonnet during April 2023 Ethical ELA #verselove. Every April they host this amazing 30 days of poetry and there always great prompts. They also host smaller Open Writes each month.
Incendiary may be the start of a new novel I am working on, but at its core it describes the rage I feel when I am standing up to someone or something that I feel should be changed. I also thought it was a good time to share because IT IS HOT OUTSIDE and everyone is boiling right now.
Reading Diaries
Alright, let’s get into my reading for the week! I kept track of my reading in terms of pages, so let’s start with a guess first. How many pages do you think I read????
Let’s see… drumroll please.
Here are the books I read and books up for this week:

Writing Diaries
I am really trying to write more and I am just not doing a great job at it! I even have sprints set up online with friends and I see the ping, and ignore. Ugh. Advice?
But, I have been brainstorming and talked with one group about some ideas. I also have a goal to lay out my timeline in my manuscript, so one step at a time right?
I have not been listening to any writing podcasts, however I am reading a craft book. I am stepping away from Story Genius for a bit and am now reading Magic Words by Cheryl B Klein. Have you read it?

Cat Diaries
I wanted to share some of my cat stuff, because why not? We adopted two cats, Reese’s and Twix, and we collectively call them the Kit Kats. I even have an instagram for them! Yes, I am that cat mom.
Here’s an awesome video of my cat Twix. He carries this mask lanyard around that we attached ribbons to and just cries. He’s quite cute running with it between his legs too.
And now here’s the princess Reese’s! She might have eaten this feather later…don’t worry, she’s fine. Also, you can hear my sweet daughter’s voice.
