What I’m reading. What I finished. Book birthdays. Videos.
It’s time for my weekly check in (maybe not EVERY week but it’s always a goal). Read on to see what I am currently reading, books I’ve finished and short reviews, books releasing tomorrow, and recent videos I’ve made.
Currently reading
So I have this habit of having a lot of books going at one time. I call this mood reading. But, it’s more like this scene I remember from Family Guy:
I look at my shelves and I’m like “Oooh look at that book” or a new library hold comes in or a friend talks about a book…and I just bounce around. The problem is that I can get confused easily and also not end up actually finishing a book for awhile. Also, say I have a book to read to review or for my book club and I’m frantically reading the night before because I’ve completely forgotten about it!
Do you have this problem?
Anyway…to help me focus I have this graphic and I’m trying really hard to only read these four books! Nothing else until they are done!
So far, Golden Spoon is the one I’m hooked on the most. It was easy to get into and the short chapters keep me going. The Three Mothers might be a resource for a writing idea, so I’m unsure if I should buy a physical copy or not. I’ll probably listen and take a few notes and then decide.
Books I’ve recently finished
trigger warning: school shooting
Favorite short story was Brides of Devils Bayou. Also, I want to note that I don’t typically read anthologies and I LOVED this one. Strong short stories with great development.
Book birthdays
Look for these books coming to book stores tomorrow!
