It is a fiction story steeped in history. I really liked the portrayal of the possible friendship between two people who thought and behaved differently than those in their circles-Rabbi Judah Aryeh of Modena and Tintoretto. This book shows the beauty of learning other cultures, doing what makes you happy, and the power of friendship.
