I was immediately drawn to this book because of the author-Laurie Morrison. She knows the voice of a middle schooler and I love that she writes for the more mature middle graders. The second reason I was drawn to this book was because of the subtitle: Kind at All Costs and I kept that title in mind as I read because...that is ME! I felt so seen throughout this whole book.
