Reading Expectations In Our Classroom
Every teacher has there own reading expectations. I have tried to tailor my reading expectations to fit my students as much as possible. I try to make my expectations as "real world" as I can, while still encouraging a love of reading and requiring reading.
Reading Expectations
We read every day
We write a response about our reading every day (or we attempt)
We submit our best response every Friday to be assessed
We read the entire time
We can abandon or quit books
We keep our reading log updated
We can sit where we are comfortable
Reading Goals
We set a monthly (and eventually quarterly) reading goal based on page numbers. 100 pages=1 book
We can adjust the goal up until THREE DAYS before it is due
