It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Happy Monday!

I am back to school this week, getting my classroom together, and soaking up the last rays of summer with my daughter. So, Reading has slid to the back burner. But, I did manage to finish some great books last week and am have some I hope to finish this week or next.

Books I Finished

Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret by Judy Blume.

Five stars! How have I not read this before? What a great coming of age book. It was funny, but serious and it will stay with me for a long time. I loved this book.

Truth or Dare by Barbara Dee

Four Stars. What a perfect book to follow Blume’s book. They shared similar themes on friendship and growing up, but added grief to the storyline which just broke my heart. I loved the characters, especially Marley.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

Three Stars. This book has more mature themes than the other middle grade novels I read and recommend. I gave it three stars because I really struggled with it about halfway through. However, there was a lot of mystery to keep me reading and I hope to finish the series, when the next books are released.
