It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
I am trying to get back into a good routine in blogging. So, here is my first step-doing my weekly It's Monday! What Are You Reading? post!
So, without further ado...
Books I Finished
Unsouled is the third book in the Unwind Dystology. If you have not read these books by Shusterman, then you should bump them up on your list. He is a genius writer and I am already planning a reread because of something I noticed in the third book that I have to investigate further. This series is very violent and I would not recommend to my sixth graders, but I would recommend to older students.
Hey, Kiddo broke my heart over and over again. It is also more mature with language and tough issues the main character faces. It is a powerful book that I feel could connect with so many readers on so many levels. I would not recommend to my sixth graders, but I would recommend to those older.
It Wasn't Me was a great mystery! It was full of middle school tough topics and humor. I was guessing the entire book on who trashed Theo's photography. I loved the message in this book and look forward to reading more from Levy. She is a fantastic writer. I would definitely recommend to my sixth graders and plan on purchasing a copy for our classroom library.
Option Pile
NetGalley gave me an eARC of this book and I am enjoying it so far. It is based on Korean mythology and is Science Fiction. It is being released this Tuesday!
This is my read for my LitReviewCrew. An adventure based on Osage culture-I am excited to get into it.
This is my professional book for my ELA book club. I am loving the style and format of the writing and have gained ideas to better my teaching. I look forward to reading more.
