Weekly Blog Post: It's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Every Monday I post a reflection on my previous week of reading and set goals for this week. This meme is hosted by The Book Date.
Books Finished
Mutant Origins: Raphael by Micheal Teitelbaum
Let's Go to the Zoo by Mary Lee
How Do Penguins Play? By Elizabeth Dombey
The Magician's Nephew by CS Lewis
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
The first three books I finished were ones I read with my four year old daughter. The Ninja Turtle book was a small chapter book and I am so proud of her for reading it. We read over the course of several evenings and it has been exciting watching her attention span increase with chapter books. Let's Go to the Zoo is hilarious and we get quite a few belly laughs out of it. It will be a nightly read for awhile!
I read The Magician's Nephew as part of the Read a Series in a Month challenge, which I will not make and has now become Read a Series in Two Months. Haha.
Currently Reading
I am reading a lot of books at once. I seem to be having a hard time focusing this summer on one book at a time. I think I have so many to read, so many I want completed before the end of the summer, that I am getting a little crazy.
Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D Taylor (One of my all-time favorites as a child)
Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life by Anne Lamott (For teaching purposes)
Parenting with Love and Logic by Foster W Cline (For parenting and teaching purposes)
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir (audiobook)
Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman (Really unsure if I will continue reading)
Brain Rules for Baby by John Medina
A People's Hhistory of the United States by Howard Zinn
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernnow (Will probably take a year to finish
Goals for the Week
It is the last week of June. This means that I have had a month off from teaching and I have a month left. The clock is ticking to do all of the fun things I planned to do with my daughter and husband, to read all the books I planned on, and to learn some new things for my students next school year. July always means the summer is ending. So, this week is going to be pretty productive, I can promise you! Here is what I hope to accomplish
Reading Bullet Journal catch-up: Reviews and weekly blog posts
Reviews for all of the books I have read this summer
Get as many of the Chronicles of Narnia books read as a I can for the Read a Series in a Month Challenge
Post on my blog every day
Have fun with my daughter
How was your week in reading and blogging? What goals do you have? I hope you have a wonderful week and happy reading!
