IMWAYR Aug 7-13
This was my last week before going back to work, so I read as much as I could. I even did a 24 hour in 48 hour readathon....and didn't do too bad on it! You can watch more about my readathon and week of reading on my YouTube channel.
Before getting into my books, here's a reminder that I have many other ways to access my content:

Alright, let's talk BOOKS!
Here are the books I read and what I hope to pick up this week. It will be a busy week, but that won't stop me from reading at least a little each day. Plus, audiobooks will help setting up my classroom feel like a breeze.
Books I Finished
Middle Grade
My favorite middle grade I read was A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING by Dan Santat. It was amazing.
City of Speed by Alex London
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Another thrilling Battle Dragons book!

A First Time for Everything by Dan Santat

Why did I wait so long to read? This was so beautiful. I teared up, laughed, and left the world feeling hope and a little wanderlust!

Young Adult
Looks like I was on a YA kick! Out of all of these great books, I would have to say Kelly McWilliams' YOUR PLANTATION PROM IS NOT OKAY.
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was everything I hoped! Dystopian. Horror. Romance. Mystery. It was wonderful and disturbing.

Your Plantation Prom Is Not Okay by Kelly McWilliams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book was full of rage and I ate it up. I think that this is an important read about the history of the land we are on and being mindful of what you do on that land. No more plantation weddings/proms!

The Davenports by Krystal Marquis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I listened to the audiobook and I loved the multiple pop (although would have liked different voices) and also how each character developed. However...not a fan of that ending!

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What a great dystopian! So much mystery and I can't wait to continue the series. I really like how the stream of conscious writing set the pace.

Reading Challenges
I finished two books for my 30 in 3 challenge...but bad news. I did go buy some new books! I was not supposed to before reading all of these books, but there was a sale and well...I caved.
But, still trying to get these done!
How you can support me
I love what I do, reading and sharing books, connecting with readers, educators, librarians, and authors/illustrators. My favorite thing is to be seen-so a comment makes my heart go all aflutter. Sharing my posts on social media is also so very much appreciated.
If you are feeling EXTRA generous and want to show your appreciation, you are more than welcome to support my book buying with my list on bookshop.org (and after reading I am happy to donate to a little free library if you so choose) or gifting me a gift card to either Bookshop.org or Amazon! My email is in my Link Tree at the end of this post. Make sure to leave me a name or handle so I can shout you out and send you a thank you.
