Books I Finished between July 18-24

This week I finished 2 Middle Grade books and 1 Adult read.

Middle Grade

Lark and the Wild Hunt by Jennifer Adam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A beautiful and magical world and adventure full of heart, tension, thrills, fae, and horses. I loved the main character Lark and her need to fix everything perfectly-so me! The perfectionist came out strong in this book and I loved the overall message. I will always recommend Jennifer Adam for fantasy lovers. She builds beautiful worlds and characters.

The Fort by Gordon Korman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gordon Korman’s 100th book and he definitely has the multiple pov down. I love the short chapters and all of the characters. This one has some really tough stuff-drug addiction, bullying, and abuse but it was dealt in a way that is suitable for kid readers. It’s not my favorite by him, some characters felt really awkward, but overall a good read.

Adult

The Library Book by Susan Orlean
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really unique and interesting read and honestly made me LOVE libraries even more (and made me wonder why I am not a librarian). It was a good mix of mystery, nonfiction, history, and book love.

I am participating in Jessica Brody's 30 books in 3 months challenge. I have decided to adapt it to 30 ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) to help me stay focused on the books I NEED to read. I have so many ARCs, I need to be making a bigger dent than I have been. (I am a very distracted and moody reader!)
